Three weeks prior to this expedition i hyper extended my knee bodyboarding. The ironic part is i fell the same day i picked up the board i used from Alternative Surf for this contest. With just enough time to suit up and catch a set before night school i jumped in with no leash and hardly any wax. While making my bottom turn a large amount of backwash bounced only my knee off the board twisting my left leg as it was still on to board going in another direction.
I thought about things and realized i shouldnt miss this oppertunity so i decided to take the last ten remaning days off in hope of a turn around.
On the tenth day paddling out with Timmy, Jacob, Quinn, and Connor i realized i wasnt as healed as i was hoping for. However, with that said i am so glad i made the decision to come of this expedition. I was able to meet some really cool down to earth bodyboarders that had i stayed home never would of known existed.
My favorite part about the trip was the offshore morning. Arguably some of the funnest draining little right handers ive ever been lucky enough to ride. Timmy had just drove all the way back from Sana Cruz and we were catching up in the water when we had this back to back in and out set. It was really sweet beacuse the both of us were so stoked and laughing and just sitting on our own little sandbar.
